As rector prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik points out -
This is the first step in introducing special solutions to raise the prestige of Lodz University of Technology. It is our intention that those who conduct research at the highest level receive additional income. The most important thing is the quality of research, regardless of whether it is conducted by a professor or a student.
Awards are granted for publications in the best journals, papers in reviewed proceedings of international conferences, monographs published in prestigious publishing houses, obtained patents and research grants.
- Today, the greatest successes are achieved by interdisciplinary teams. For this reason, our regulations specify the amount of the award depending on the scientific value of the achievement and the number of its authors affiliated with Lodz University of Technology, as well as the participation of scientists from abroad, - remarks Rector Professor Jóźwik. - The so-called base amounts range from PLN 500 to PLN 12,000. Of course, a given achievement can be awarded in the competition only once.
The budget for the awards comes from the subsidy increased by 2%, which Lodz University of Technology received when it joined the "Excellence Initiative - Research University" programme.
- The funds that we want to allocate this year for the best and the most active researchers will reach the level of several million zlotys - says Rector Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik.
