dr hab. inż. Joanna Pietrasik (Chemical Sciences, Web of Science Core Collection: h-index -14,no. of publications (2013-2021) - 40, no. of citations for publications from the years 2013-2021 - 866).

Her area of research concerns the synthesis and properties of polymeric materials, in particular those obtained using controlled radical polymerization and ring-opening polymerization methods. This makes it possible to obtain polymers with a well-defined molecular weight, well-defined single chain architecture and functionality.

The synthesized polymers are being studied for their use as modern carriers of active substances, such as, for example, drugs, chemical nanoreactors, lubricants, nanocomposites with conductive properties, smart dressing materials or materials with controlled degradability.

In 2004-2006, she held a postdoctoral fellowship in the team of Professor Krzysztof Matyjaszewski (Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA), and then in the team of Professor Filip Du Prez (Ghent University, Ghent, Belgium), Professor Dingcai Wu (Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China) and Professor Kohji Ohno (Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan). She is currently working very actively with leading research centers in the United States, Canada, Germany, Greece, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

She has been and is the manager of research projects funded by Nacional Science Centre (Opus, Opus-LAP) and FNP (Homing). She was also a recipient of a Kosciuszko Foundation scholarship.

She co-authored numerous scientific articles published in high-impact journals, chapters in monographs, and patents.

She received a diploma of recognition for her participation in research on atom transfer polymerization (ATRP) under environmentally friendly conditions, Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award, USA, her work has been recognized at Polish and international fairs.

She serves as a supervisor of both engineering, master's and doctoral theses.

She is an expert and reviewer of research projects, articles and scientific papers both at home and abroad.

She is actively involved in the University's activities, currently serving as Deputy Director for Education at the Institute of Polymer and Dye Technology at Lodz University of Technology, Vice-Chair of the University's Disciplinary Appeals Committee for Doctoral Candidates for the term 2020-2024, and Chair of the Doctoral Scholarship Committee.

She is a member of the Discipline Council "Chemical Sciences" in the Field of "Natural Sciences", the Scientific Council of the Center for Polymer and Carbon Materials of the Polish Academy of Sciences for the term of 2023-2026, and the Committee on Polymer Materials of the Polish Academy of Sciences for the term of 2023-2026.
