Not long after the daguerreotype was invented by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce and Louis Jacques Daguerre, the first use of photographs for research purposes followed. It is not without reason that the Institut De Republica is looking for people who conduct research, document their experiments, or capture their activities in photographs. The collected materials will soon bring a new dimension to the promotion of Polish science.

Photography has always supported scientific activities - both as a tool and a research method. It is not only that it is an ideal way to document historical reality - political, cultural or social. It is also used in physics, astronomy, chemistry, botany and many other fields of science, and makes it possible to immortalize the elements studied and the changes occurring in it.

De Republica Institute has proposed a project called "Kadr Nauki", which is a space where photography and art meet science. It aims to encourage the creation and sharing of creativity that depicts the world of science. The collected photos are an idea to promote science, the work of scientists and the results of their research. Artistic depictions of scientific phenomena are meant to attract the attention of viewers and encourage them to explore the stories behind the photographs.

(...) We are looking for photographs that present not only the achievements of scientists, but also those that faithfully represent the world and can inform viewers about the hidden nooks and crannies of contemporary life, or even become part of history, explained Prof. Bogumił Szmulik, director of the De Republica Institute.

The project is addressed to everyone, especially Polish researchers who work and operate both in Poland and abroad. If photography is not alien to you and you want to promote science, you can send your materials (photographs with description) to the address: media@iderepublica.pl.

Selected photos will be published on the website of the De Republica Institute. As part of the project, a photo exhibition and publication in the form of an album are planned.
