The researchers received 250,000 euros for this innovative project with the acronym HE-ART (Mulit-MW Hybrid-Electric Propulsion System for Regional Aircraft), coordinated at TUL by Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, Head of the Institute.
Our participation will consist in the design and calculation of the propulsion system components. It will be a new, hybrid design, more environmentally friendly, intended only for regional airliners, explains Prof Krzysztof Jóźwik, who already has extensive experience in designing airborne vehicles. His scientific team performed the calculations and design of the propulsion system for the world's fastest helicopter, the X3.
Lodz University of Technology is one of 30 partners of the project, connecting leading engine manufacturers - Rolls Royce and Safran - with aircraft manufacturers - ATR, Airbus and Leonardo, as well as with scientific units. The total budget for the HE-ART project financed by the Horizon Europe Programme is EUR 60 million.
