Natalia Jabrzyk, a student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering (BAIŚ) of Lodz University of Technology, won the gold medal in the women's team cross-country skiing at the World Academic Championships in Lake Placid (USA).

The World Academic Championships taking place in historic Lake Placid are a new experience for me. Before I left for the USA, I had already set myself a goal to come back with a medal. The open-air track always holds a lot of surprises, but I hope that this competition will be seen as a nice accent at the end of the season, says happy Natalia, who celebrated her 21st birthday while in Lake Placid (3.03).

ladies won the gold medal in the line-up: Natalia Jabrzyk (TUL), Iga Wojtasik and Maja Płończyk, both from AWF Katowice. Our student was also very close to an individual medal in Lake Placid. She finished fourth in the last lap of the competition, and in this place (with 13 points) she finished the competition.

Natalia Jabrzyk studies spatial planning at the Lodz University of Technology, she is in her second year of the first-degree programme at the Faculty of BAIŚ. Thanks to AZS it was possible to obtain, especially for PŁ, Natalia's statement from Lake Placid concerning the choice of engineering studies at TUL?

When considering the subject of studying, I knew from the beginning that any AWF would be a last resort for me. I thought I could do better than that, as I have never had any problems with learning. I have been training since the first grade of primary school. I decided to find a course at Lodz University of Technology to secure my future because, as we all know, the adventure with sport does not last forever.

I knew Lodz University of Technology when I was still in high school because I often took part in various events and projects held at the university. The proximity of the Technical University of Lodz to my hometown, which I had to take into consideration while travelling to training camps, as well as the fact that my major coincided with my interests outside of sports, made my decision. Nowadays, it is much easier to combine studies with sport. The individual course of classes and remote learning help me a lot in passing subsequent semester

Natalia Jabrzyk trains in KS Pilica Tomaszów Mazowiecki, under the supervision of coach Wiesław Kmiecik.
