Research in mechanical engineering at Lodz University of Technology has been ranked highest in a global ranking by Research.com.

This is the second edition of the ranking, which bases its results on achievements and publication output, including the number of citations. The Research.com ranking took into account the best universities whose researchers conduct scientific work in the field of mechanical engineering.
I am pleased - especially as I am a mechanical engineer myself - with the advancement from the fourth place in Poland to the leading position," said Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik, Rector of the TUL, commenting on the high position of the university in the ranking.

Research.com's ranking in mechanical engineering included a total of 550 universities from 50 countries, including six from Poland. The highest-ranking faculty member from Lodz University of Technology on the global list - 463rd out of 1942 - was by Professor Tomasz Kapitaniak, a candidate of Lodz University of Technology for the prestigious Heisig Prize. On the ranking list, Lublin, Opole, Bialystok, AGH and Gdansk Universities of Technology were ranked after TUL. On the world list, Lodz University of Technology was ranked 237th, while Poland, with six scientific affiliations, is ranked 19th.
