A team of Raptors from the Robotics Science Club SKaNeR at the TUL Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering took part in the anniversary Droniada, which ended on June 4th in Chorzów at the Mars Fields and the Muchowiec airport in Katowice. The students went there with their drones - Hexacopter and Mavik - and successfully competed in six competitions.

In one of them, "Pipeline," which consisted of checking critical infrastructure defects, we took second place. We won third place in two others: "Intruder," which consisted of detecting a suspicious person on the premises, and in the so-called "Relay" - a long-distance flight and the precise dropping of light beacons so that they formed a route for rescuers, – reports student participant Adrianna Rosiak

In addition to the team competitions, there was an individual competition - a simulation of a search operation, in which you had to find photos of people with given descriptions. Raptors team pilot Damian Szewczyk took 3rd place.

In addition, the Raptors team was honored with a recognition award for teamwork, sports culture and meeting health and safety requirements, says Professor Grzegorz Granosik, supervisor of the SKaNeR.

At this year's competition TUL was represented by: Adrianna Rosiak, Adrian Gwis, Jakub Wiśniewski, Jakub Przybysz, Damian Szewczyk, Przemysław Dawid, Eryk Pietrzak, Paweł Smyczyński.
