The first gold in the materials category went to an interdisciplinary team consisting of Prof. Łukasz Kaczmarek (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Lodz), Prof. Jacek Szer, (Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering, Lodz), and Dr. Konrad A. Sodol, PhD and Dariusz Tyszkowski, MSc, both from Hydro Building Systems Poland of the Norsk Hydro Group.

Once again at an international exhibition, the breakthrough "Sodolite" cooling-insulating composite technology was recognized. It has been implemented in industry and is used in fire-resistant curtain walls made of glass and aluminum. It was developed at TUL within the 1st edition of the "Implementation Doctorates" program by Dr. Konrad Sodol. It is a good example of interdisciplinary cooperation at the intersection of different fields, construction and structures.

The second gold medal went to the "SpiderBot hexapod" robot, also recognized earlier at the EXPO exhibition, designed by students and members of the UbiCOMP Research Group: Natalia Walczak, Anita Rambo, Wiktoria Krzyzanska, Julia Trzebuchowska, Artur Grabowski, Franciszek Sobiech, Adam Salata and Julia Dominiak under the supervision of Dr. Aleksandra Wysokińska and Assoc. Prof. Krzysztof Gruden from the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering, with a view to using it in smart cities of the future.

The invention exhibition was held between April 26-28 in Perlis, Malaysia.
