On the first day of Research Week, even before the opening ceremony, there was a session related to the presentation of the work of students who carried out research projects in the last year under the special E2TOP program. This is a new program created at Lodz University of Technology for talented students, but also for ambitious and enthusiastic academics.

The aim of the program is to stimulate and support the scientific development of first-cycle students at Lodz University of Technology by implementing an individual education path based on conducting research work. Scientific research can already be carried out from the first year of studies.

The session was led by Assoc. Prof. Łukasz Szymański, - head of the E2TOP program council. After listening to all the young scientists, some of whom presented their results remotely because they are currently at foreign universities, two winners were selected, rewarding them and their mentors with symbolic checks.

The awards from the hands of the Rector Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik received:

  • Maciej Szulczewski for the project "Pneumatic robot for the diagnosis of the human digestive system" and the student's mentor: Łukasz Frącczak. PhD

  • Wiktor Barańczyk for the project "Do you understand what I'm signing to you?" and his mentor: Piotr Duch, PhD

All presentations were extremely interestingly presented, and the research very interesting with practical potential, as can already be evidenced by their titles alone (list below).

In the third edition of E2TOP, another dozen or so students will participate. Most of them are new people, although several continue and develop research already conducted within E2TOP.
