On 19 October 2026 in Mokpo, South Korea, the Rector of Lodz University of Technology, Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, and the President of the Green Energy Institute, Dr Gyou-Cheol Hwang, signed a memorandum of cooperation. The agreement runs for five years and covers joint research in energy, the development of energy technologies, and cooperation with industry. The signing opened a study visit by a delegation from the Łódzkie Region to Jeollanam Province.

56 researchers from Lodz University of Technology have been included in the latest ranking of the world’s Top 2% most influential scientists. Compiled by a team from Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier, the ranking is one of the world’s most prestigious and important tools for assessing scientific achievement.

On 15 September 2026, Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik, Rector of Lodz University of Technology, signed an agreement to establish the Centre for the Implementation of Artificial Intelligence in Automation and Robotics (CESAR).

Nobel Prize laureate in chemistry, Professor Susumu Kitagawa, is a guest of Lodz University of Technology during the 24th International Conference on Organic Synthesis (24-ICOS). This is one of the most prestigious events in global chemistry, held every two years in different countries. In its 50-year history, the conference has come to Poland for the second time, and to Lodz for the first time. This year’s edition takes place from July 5 to July 10, 2026.

Lodz University of Technology (TUL) has joined the prestigious ScalePL project, which was announced by the Minister of Science and Higher Education. The program is designed to combine the potential of Polish universities with the innovative ecosystem of Silicon Valley, effectively creating a bridge between the world of science, technology, and business.

During an official visit to Taiwan, the Rector of Lodz University of Technology, Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, signed a cooperation agreement with National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) – one of the leading technical universities in Asia. On behalf of NCKU, the document was signed by Prof. Menu-Ru Shen, President, and Prof. Shyy-Woei Chang, Executive Vice President.

The results of the National Science Centre (NCN) competitions have proven very beneficial for researchers at Lodz University of Technology. They will implement five projects in Opus 27 and five in Preludium 23, with a total value of nearly 9.4 million PLN.

The Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology has received funding of 2 million PLN from the National Agency for Academic Exchange as part of the STER programme for the Internationalization of Doctoral Schools.

The Polish Association of Plastic Converters announced the winner of the competition for the most innovative applications of these materials in scientific work. The winner is Konrad Stefaniak, a student at TUL.
