Scientific achievements
Ewelina Pabjańczyk-Wlazło, Dr. Eng., obtained her PhD degree in 2020 in the discipline of materials engineering, focusing on advanced biomaterials. She has published 17 papers in international journals. Her key scientific achievement at an early stage of her scientific career is leading a package in the international project RESILIENCE-R-2024 funded by the European
Defence Fund, implemented by a consortium of 21 institutions from 11 countriesin Europe. As part of the project, she is responsible for the sub-project SP5 – WOUNDS B, developing innovative technologies for the treatment of wounds and injuries caused by biological agents.
Rresearch profile
She represents the field of materials engineering, building an interdisciplinary research profile focused on the design and characterization of advanced biomaterials and fibrous and porous structures with controlled physicochemical and biological properties. Her interests include, in particular, biopolymers, wound dressings and scaffolds for applications in regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. She shapes the properties of materials through advanced surface modification techniques, developing
materials with programmed bioactivity, antibacterial properties and the ability to support regenerative processes. She also develops intelligent textile materials and multifunctional composites, which are used in physiological and health monitoring systems. All these interests indicate a high research potential in the development of modern functional materials.
Projects and cooperation
In addition to the implementation of the international project RESILIENCE-R-2024, she has carried out other research projects funded by national and international funds, including the Norway Grants „engiSCAF”, under which patent applications were filed for new methods of manufacturing composites and biomaterial foams, preludium Project NCN and 2 projects financed by European Institute of Technology and Innovation (EIT). She cooperates intensively with research centers in France, Austria and
Latvia. She participates in didactic programs and projects carried out with universities in Belgium, Sweden, Japan, Spain and France. She co-founded the myHYDRO startup dealing with textronic solutions for monitoring body hydration, which resulted in obtaining international funding and numerous awards in innovation competitions. She filed five patent applications (including one in EPO), from which 3 were granted.
