Prof. Andrzej Szymonik, Ph.D., Eng., a brigadier general in the Polish Army Reserve, is a leading expert in logistics and supply chain management within the field of management and quality science. His publications cover topics in management, logistics, and security and have garnered significant attention, as evidenced by his high FWCI score (1.3). His most significant academic achievement in recent years is co-authoring the monograph Supply Chain Security: How to Support Safety and Reduce Risk in Your Supply Chain Process (Routledge, 2022), which presents an original model for supply chain security management. This model interates a process-oriented approach, risk management, the Logistics 4.0 concept, and issues related to business continuity and security standards. It is applied in analyzing organizational resilience and in logistics risk management. He has many years of professional and academic experience, spanning over 50 years of activity. While serving in command positions in the Polish Armed Forces, he achieved numerous successes in modernizing the army and improving its efficiency. He has served in national and international organizations—he was a member of the NATO Research and Technology Organization and Poland’s representative to the European Defense Agency. He has actively collaborated with industry as a strategic and logistics advisor to the CEO of Wielton Defense.
