Scientific achievements
Professor Przemysław Perlikowski from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at TUL is a specialist in the field of nonlinear dynamics of mechanical systems. He is the author of 94 scientific publications indexed in the JCR database and has served as both principal investigator and researcher in numerous nationally funded research projects. He has acted as guest editor of three special issues of scientific journals and has organized thematic sessions at renowned international conferences devoted to nonlinear dynamics and mechanics.
Research profile and research directions
Professor Przemysław Perlikowski’s research interests focus on the nonlinear dynamics of mechanical systems, one of the key areas of modern mechanical engineering. His research covers vibration mitigation, systems with impacts and discontinuities, oscillator synchronization, multistability, and the dynamic response of mechanical structures. Particular emphasis is placed on the use of inerters and adaptive vibration absorbers, which can enhance the safety, reliability, and energy efficiency of advanced engineering systems. Professor Perlikowski is also engaged in the development of probabilistic methods for the analysis of complex dynamical systems and in research on harvesting energy from mechanical vibrations.
Honours and recognition from the scientific community
Professor Przemysław Perlikowski was a member of the Polish Young Academy from 2016 to 2021. He is a recipient of the Award of the Committee of Mechanics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Scholarship for Outstanding Young Scientists, and the START scholarship of the Foundation for Polish Science. He held research fellowships at Humboldt University of Berlin and the National University of Singapore and collaborates with research institutions across Europe and Asia. He currently serves as Chair of the Scientific Council for the Discipline of Mechanical Engineering and serves on expert panels of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
