Lodz University of Technology supports the development of women and girls in science, education and research. It promotes and recognises women's scientific achievements and encourages girls to study technical subjects. International Women and Girls in Science Day (11.02) is a good opportunity to show the female side of the university.

Phillips Poland Sp. z o.o., together with the Faculty of Material Technologies and Textile Design, organised a competition for design students to design and create the technical documentation of a flap for the socket located on the truck tractor, i.e. the truck designed to pull semi-trailers. The winning design will be manufactured by the company.

A team of researchers from Lodz University of Technology, under the direction of Professor Grażyna Budryn, has developed an innovative technology for obtaining durable biodegradable foil based on starch. Professor Budryn, Head of the Institute of Food Technology and Analysis, explains how it has been possible to create such a desired solution for the market.
A programme for the most talented students of Lodz University of Technology has been launched. Starting from 9 February, first-cycle students will be able to apply for the competition under the E²TOP - Excellence in Engineering Talents in Research with Opportunities Programme.
Researchers from the Department of Molecular Physics of Lodz University of Technology received over PLN 1.2 million in funding from the National Centre for Research and Development for their project entitled "New methods for structuring printed QD-LEDs for use in light displays". This year's winners of the competition held by the Voivodeship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Łódź are mostly representatives of Lodz University of Technology. Professor Edward Kącki, doctor honoris causa of Lodz University of Technology, an outstanding computer scientist and cyberneticist, a pioneer of computer science in Poland, passed away on January 18.
