The iLumen European Solar Challenge competition in Belgium at Circuit Zolder proved once again lucky for the students of Lodz Solar Team from Lodz University of Technology. During the competition, their Eagle Two car circumnavigated the track 140 times on a single charge, scoring the second for the distance covered.

Professor Łukasz Albrecht was awarded the Stanisław Kostanecki - prestigious award granted for outstanding achievements in organic chemistry. The ceremony took place during the 64th Congress of the Polish Chemical Society which brought together 650 scientists. Prof. Albrecht, as special guest, gave a plenary lecture on the tools used to create chemical diversity, i.e. organocatalytic cycloadditions, which is a way of accelerating a special type of chemical reactions.

This prestigious award is granted for outstanding achievements in organic chemistry and is only given to one scientist each year.
The academic holidays in 2022 allowed for extremely interesting, pioneering work in the field of quantum information at the Lodz University of Technology. At the Department of Semiconductor and Optoelectronic Devices of the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering, for the first time in Łódź, tests of cryptographic transmissions were carried out using QKD (Quantum Key Distribution) devices.
