Academic Achievements
Professor Jarosław Jędrysiak is a researcher in the discipline of Civil Engineering, Geodesy, and Transport. His scientific work encompasses longstanding contributions to structural mechanics and solid thermomechanics, with particular emphasis on the modelling of materials and structures with complex microstructures. Among his most significant achievements is the development of innovative mathematical models of plates, beams, shells, and composite materials with periodic and microstructured architectures that account for scale effects. In recent years, his research has advanced the understanding of temperature fluctuation phenomena in periodic laminates by incorporating the influence of random material properties. He has also developed new models of periodic and tolerance-periodic beams that explicitly capture the effects of microstructural size.

Professor Jędrysiak’s research interests focus on structural dynamics and stability, the mechanics of heterogeneous materials, and the thermomechanics of composite structures. The central themes of his work are the mathematical modelling of materials and engineering systems, and the development of theoretical frameworks that incorporate scale effects into the analysis of physical phenomena. He has led and participated in numerous research projects funded by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the National Science Centre (NCN). His findings have been widely disseminated through publications in internationally recognized scientific journals.
Industry Collaboration and Recognition
Professor Jędrysiak’s work provides fundamental scientific foundations for strength, dynamic, and thermal analyses used in the design of advanced engineering materials and structures. Beyond his research activity, he plays a significant role in the scientific community through his editorial, expert, and organizational contributions.
He serves on the scientific boards of national and international journals, acts as guest editor, and reviews manuscripts for international journals, academic promotions and research grants. He is Head of the Department of Structural Mechanics at Lodz University of Technology, Chair of the Discipline Council for Civil Engineering, Geodesy, and Transport, and President of the Łódź Branch of the Polish Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics. For his scientific and organizational achievements, he has received multiple awards from the Rector of Lodz University of Technology, the First Prize of the Committee of Mechanics of the Polish Academy of Sciences for young researchers, and the Medal of the National Education Commission.
