The first pilot Workshop for Active Use of Technology (PAKT) in Poland was opened at Lodz University of Technology on Wednesday (14 December). It will be a place to host educational workshops for children, young people and adults, based on problem-based, project-based work and the three leading STEAM pathways: robotics, programming and multimedia.
Michał Krupa, PhD, is a graduate in Electronics and Telecommunications at Lodz University of Technology. He has been working at CERN for 12 years, but has not lost touch with his university. In November, he defended his doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering.

A computer game during functional magnetic resonance imaging, developed at the Institute of Information Technology at the Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology and Applied Mathematics at TUL, won in the "Transformation Partner/Solution Provider" category. Prof Andrzej Bartoszewicz from the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering has been elected President of the Lodz Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences for the term 2023-2026.
Prof Bartoszewicz is an expert in control theory and director of the Institute of Automatic Control. He belongs to a small group of 2% of the most cited scientists in the world. He has been a correspondent member of the Polish Academy of Sciences since 2016.
The XV European Economic Forum, organised by the Marshal's Office of the Łódź Voivodeship, begins on 14 December.
