Lodz University of Technology will cooperate with the Municipal Investment Board as part of the "Dobre Praktyki … Buduj z nami Łódź" [Good Internship ... Build Lodz with us] project. Signing the letter of intent is the beginning of the road, and at its end students will gain knowledge and competences expected by the market of large infrastructural investments, including those connected with the area revitalisation programme.
Representatives of international technology companies, Cybercom and TomTom, have selected the best mobile applications by IT students of Lodz University of Technology. The aim of the projects carried out during the studies was to assess their usefulness and the possibility of supporting the society in an epidemic situation. The task was entered by 120 students who worked in groups of three. Nine teams took part in the final organized on the last day of the course.
Mutual cooperation on the implementation of the Dobre Praktyki … Buduj z nami Łódź project and taking initiatives aimed at enabling students to gain knowledge and skills expected by the labour market are the most important points of the letter of intent to be signed on Thursday, 4 February 2021.
Traditionally, Lodz University of Technology has joined the Wielka Orkiestra Swiątecznej Pomocy [Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity - WOSP] conducted by Jurek Owsiak. During the 29th finale, Lodz University of Technology WOSP committee collected nearly 300 thousand zlotys, which is another record of our volunteers.
Admissions for second-cycle studies at Lodz University of Technology starts at the beginning of February. Students with a BSc or BA degree may choose between 26 majors taught in Polish and 6 in English. This year, new majors are being offered by the University, two of them (Human-Computer Interaction and Nanotechnology) taught in English, the third novelty being Sustainable Bioeconomy.
Admissions will last until February 19th. Interviews with candidates have been planned for February 22nd.
The results of admissions will be announced on February 25th.
On February 1st, the Rector of Lodz University of Technology, Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, published an announcement informing that in the summer semester of the academic year 2020/21, until further notice, all the rules and restrictions regarding the functioning of the university in force in the winter semester will be maintained. This applies in particular to the process of education, which for all forms and levels of studies will be, as a rule, carried out remotely, using distance learning methods and tools.
120 students of applied computer science, divided into 40 teams, took part in the next Mobile Application Design competition. On February 2, during the finals, we met the winners who received prizes funded by Cybercom.
Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) has granted funding to 10 units under the "STER - Internationalisation of Doctoral Schools" programme. Lodz University of Technology is one of the beneficiaries.

The results of the latest edition of Webometrics ranking were published. It took into account nearly 12 thousand higher education institutions, including nearly 400 Polish universities. Lodz University of Technology was classified on 1095th place in the world and 16th in Poland.
