The Students’ Self-Government of Lodz University of Technology has decided to elect the Best Teacher of the Year 2019/2020. Open Access publications are an important part of the open model of scientific communication. They also bring many benefits to their authors. At the beginning of the new year, Lodz University of Technology launched a special path to subsidise the costs of Open Access publications, which have at least 100 points according to the current ministerial list (currently journals are assigned 20, 40, 70, 100, 140 or 200 points).

Prof. Mariusz Wójcik graduated in physics from the Faculty of Technical Physics and Applied Mathematics of Lodz University of Technology (now the Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology and Applied Mathematics) in 1986. After graduation he started work at the Interdepartmental Institute of Radiation Technology at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and he still works there.
