Computer science enthusiasts gathered (7.11) at Lodz University of Technology for the seventh edition of the Lodz IT Days. This year's event focuses on the most important trend of the last 12 months – Artificial Intelligence. The program includes lectures, workshops, and modules dedicated to high school students.
Employees of Lodz University of Technology who made outstanding contributions to the advancement of science and education were decorated during the Senate convened for the occasion. Also honored were the highest-achieving students and alumni of Lodz University of Technology.

Six student teams pursuing a degree in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning presented the results of their innovative, albeit frequently surprising, projects completed in class. Their work proves that their time was never wasted, that they are knowledgeable and feel very comfortable in the world of AI, developing projects with commercialization or further development potential.
The Plenary Assembly of the CRASP - The Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland - was held in Łódź. It was organized by the Łódź Academic Partnership. The proceedings were held at the University of Lodz on the first day, while Lodz University of Technology was the host of the second day.

The University of Lodz was the venue for the conference Universities and Re-Construction of Cities: the Role of Research and Education. A particularly solemn point in the program was the ceremony of signing the Magna Charta Universitatum MCU 2020, a charter of fundamental academic values, by rectors of Polish and foreign universities. Among the 36 new signatories was prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, Rector of Lodz University of Technology.

Lodz University of Technology and Western Balkans University concluded a cooperation agreement. The document was signed by prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, TUL Rector, and prof. Ferdinand Gjana, President of the Albanian university in Tirana. The agreement sets out the terms and principles that shall inform research collaboration between the two universities. The scope, goals and manner of the collaboration shall be defined in specific agreements to reflect specific research interests of the collaborating parties.

In the course of carrying out the project to boost commercialization potential of research establishments in the łódzkie voivodeship, prof. Agnieszka Zakrzewska-Bielawska, accompanied by prof. Magdalena Grębosz-Krawczyk, dr inż. Iwona Staniec, and dr inż. Sylwia Flaszewska, went to Brussels to meet representatives of the European Commission in charge of developing community policy for knowledge valorization.

Once again, most important Polish innovators met in Uniejów (19-20.10) at the Smart Development Forum (SDF), also known as the Congress of Projects of the Future. The Forum is a good opportunity to recognize the best Polish projects.
For 50 years now, materials engineering has been the subject of education and the object of research at Lodz University of Technology. The semicentennial anniversary, as well as the spectacular achievements during this time, certainly made the cause for a celebratory event which was attended by a large number of alumni, university staff, and business partners.
