Students of Lodz University of Technology Vice-Champions of Europe

Encouraged by the success of the woonerf project on Stefanowskiego Street in the previous editions of the Participatory Budget, students of the CIRKULA Students' Research Group have submitted another project to this year's Participatory Budget which will beautify the immediate surroundings of Lodz University of Technology. This time, it is Skorupki Street, which houses, among others, the Rector's Office.

International Centre for Research on Innovative Biobased Materials (ICRI-BioM) - International Research Agenda was established in 2019 in cooperation with the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz. Since December 2021 it has been run by Prof. Alexander Steinbüchel, a world-class microbiologist, whose task is to implement research directions that combine theoretical and experimental methods, polymers and bio-molecules to obtain new materials with pre-programmed properties.

The presentation of new version of Eagle Two, an electric car created by the students of Lodz University of Technology, took place in the stylish scenery of Monopolis architecture.

The first ceremony in the representative auditorium named after Prof. Tadeusz Paryjczak, which took place immediately after the opening ceremony, was the conferment of an honorary doctorate from Lodz University of Technology.

First there were dreams, then the chances of them coming true began to appear. Finally, there came the good news that the building for the Faculty of Chemistry would receive funding. First concepts were created, and then the project was attractively presented in visualisations. Today we can stop in front of the entrance to "Alchemium", look up at its modern elevation and go inside, where we are welcomed by a spacious hall, from where we can direct ourselves to the place where we want to be.

General information on the rules for charging fees for studies at Lodz University of Technology from Polish citizens and the announcement of the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs of Lodz University of Technology of 11 June 2021 on fees for educational services and other services provided for full-time and part-time studies of the first- and second-cycle studies and other forms of education at Lodz University of Technology charged from persons who are Polish citizens and other persons listed in Article 324 section 2 of the Act of 20 July 2018. - Law on Higher Education and Science, starting the education cycle in the academic year 2021/22.

 - We are incredibly proud of the result achieved, for which the whole team worked so hard - say students from Lodz Solar Team, designers and constructors of Eagle Two solar car, returning from iLumen European Solar Challenge competition in Belgium. They won the European vice-championship by driving 235 laps in 24 hours, i.e. 965 km on a single charge.  

The Interdisciplinary Doctoral School (IDS) at Lodz University of Technology has been operating for 2 years, educating students from all over the world in English. The IDS community consists of about 200 young researchers working on their doctoral dissertation theses in the standard, implementation and project formula. Prof. Agnieszka Ruppert talks about the activities of the IDS.

A team of students from the Lodz University of Technology - Lodz Solar Team - operating at the Institute of Turbomachinery, presented the latest version of the electric vehicle - Eagle Two (10.09) in Monopolis. In a few days, on 18 September, the car will take part in an international competition in Belgium.
