Modern science is evaluated not only by the quality of publications but also by citation and impact metrics of researchers—both over their entire careers and during specified periods. One of the most important tools in this area is the database Science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators (Elsevier), which contains standardized bibliometric data such as citation counts, h-index, and indicators adjusted for co-authorship and self-citations.

Tomasz Grzyb, a PhD student at IDS PŁ, has received funding from the International Visegrad Fund for research on common ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia)– an exceptionally invasive and allergenic weed.
The summer holidays were not yet over, but a wave of creative energy had already filled the laboratories of Lodz University of Technology. This was the fifth edition of the CHIncredible Manuscript Marathon, which transformed the university into a hub of international HCI.

The Public High School of Lodz University of Technology has officially been named after its founder – Professor Jan Krysiński. The ceremony, held on 9 September 2025 in the Prof. T. Paryjczak Auditorium at Alchemium, brought together university authorities, representatives of the city and region, educators, the professor’s family – his wife Dr. Halina Krysińska and son Dr. Eng. Almost PLN 52 million has been allocated to Łódź University of Technology for investments aimed at restoring the splendour of three historic campus buildings. The funds come from the regional programme European Funds for Łódź Voivodeship 2021–2027: Revitalisation of Urban Areas. During a press conference on 26 August, Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, Rector; Joanna Skrzydlewska, Marshal of the Łódź Voivodeship; and Monika Malinowska-Olszowy, Councillor of the Regional Assembly of the Łódź Voivodeship, spoke about the record amount of funding and the excellent preparation of the project applications.
