Professor Volodymyr Mosorov from the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering at Lodz University of Technology is one of Poland’s leading researchers in the fields of applied computer science, industrial and medical tomography, and signal analysis.
Research profile and directions
The scientific profile of Professor Mosorov is characterized by interdisciplinarity, combining computer science, electronics, radiometry, tomography, and non‑invasive measurement methods. His main research areas include industrial and medical tomography, radiation tomography, non‑invasive medical diagnostics, medical signal processing, and data analysis.
Professor Mosorov specializes in designing non‑invasive medical diagnostic systems, and among his most important achievements is the development of systems for non‑invasive monitoring and diagnosis of functional disorders of the lower urinary tract using electrical and ultrasound tomography. He served as principal investigator of projects funded by the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) with a total budget exceeding PLN 16 million, as well as a European LIFE Programme project focused on environmental education. He is the founder of the Medical Informatics Laboratory at the Institute of Applied Computer Science of Lodz University of Technology.
Distinctions and recognition by the scientific community
For his scientific work, he has been repeatedly awarded, including receiving the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland. Professor Volodymyr Mosorov holds numerous positions in international organizations. He is the founder of the International Network of Mercury‑Free City Communities. Throughout his career, he has frequently served as an expert and reviewer evaluating grant and scholarship applications in competitions organized by ABM, NCN, and NCBR.
