Physicists from Lodz University of Technology are working on an innovative optical water vapour analyser that will significantly reduce energy consumption and will be much cheaper than similar solutions currently available on the market. Research will be conducted jointly with researchers from Wrocław University of Science and Technology and the Technical University of Berlin. The project will be implemented by companies from Poland and Germany.

Scientists from the Institute Polymer and Dye Technology, TUL, participate in a unique, international project. – For the first time we will combine, in an innovative strategy, three individually important concepts used in preparation of dressing materials, i.e. intelligent polymers reacting to external stimuli, active nanolayers and peptides released from a new composite material, as a last option of anti- infective protection against resistant pathogens- informs Assoc. Prof. Eng. Joanna Pietrasik, TUL Prof at the Faculty of Chemistry and the project leader.
A team of researchers from Poland and the Czech Republic is going to optimize a new technology to capture carbon dioxide from exhaust gases discharged into the atmosphere. The National Science Centre has allocated over 1.7 million PLN from the OPUS + LAP program for the research.
The National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) has announced a list of 176 winners of the 4th edition of the Bekker internship and research programme. Among the scholarship holders is Dr Eng. Szymon Szufa from the Faculty of Process and Environmental Engineering (WIPOŚ) of Lodz University of Technology.
Researchers from Lodz University of Technology participate in the European FLEXIndustries consortium, which brings together 36 international institutions. Experts from the Institute of Turbomachinery Lodz University of Technology and the K-FLEX Lodz - Uniejów company are one of the Polish members.
Researchers from the Faculty of Process and Environmental Engineering at Lodz University of Technology in cooperation with Otto-von-Guericke Universität Magdeburg (OVGU) will conduct research on a new spray drying technology. For this purpose, they have received nearly one million PLN from the National Science Centre from the OPUS + LAP programme.
Nearly seventy new full members and corresponding members of the Polish Academy of Sciences were elected during the General Assembly of the Polish Academy of Sciences, which was held on December 3.
Lodz University of Technology has become a member of the European consortium of innovative universities. As the only university in Poland, TUL has joined the elite network of the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU).
A team of scientists headed by Prof. Tomasz Czyszanowski from the Institute of Physics, TUL, described the discovery of a new phenomenon involving the increase of optical power emitted by VCSEL lasers as a result of breaking their cylindrical symmetry. The latest issue of Nature Photonics recognizes the novelty and applicability of this discovery and dedicates to it an article from the News & Views series: "Asymmetry brings power boost".
A large part of society is already aware of how important a healthy diet is in our lives. However, we still have problems with the right choice of food and good quality products containing the so-called "good fats" that have a huge impact on our health. Researchers from the Institute of Food Technology and Analysis of Lodz University of Technology under the direction of Professor Grażyna Budryn have successfully taken up the challenge of implementing zero trans fats in the production of many types of food. New technologies and patents have been developed, making it possible, among other things, to produce the healthy sweet snacks that Prof. Budryn talks about.
Lodz University of Technology has received 450,000 euros in funding from the Erasmus + programme to coordinate and implement two international projects: HEART and Ready, Teady, Go! Both projects are part of long-term activities of the Human-Centered Robotics Laboratory at the Institute of Automatic Control of Lodz University of Technology, which develops robotic tools for humans.
A record number of 95,972 works were submitted for this year's Design Biennale in Peru. In the category of visual identification, 9,596 works were submitted, including "The project of a generative system of dynamic visual identification of Lodz University of Technology" Dr Krzysztof Guzek from the Institute of Information Technology at Lodz University of Technology, which was among the three highest rated by the jury.
The results of the next edition of one of the most prestigious international rankings, U.S. News Best Global Universities, were published in the institutional and by subject classifications. This year, TUL was classified in four disciplines.
The project concerns an extremely important topic: data protection in cloud applications. A team of scientists from the Institute of Information Technology at TUL and specialists from the LTC company intend to develop a new technology using artificial intelligence algorithms and Data Science. The National Centre for Research and Development has granted a 2.5 million PLN grant from the Operational Programme "Intelligent Development" for this purpose.
A team of young chemists under the direction of Professor Anna Masek from the Faculty of Chemistry at TUL was awarded this year's "Łódzkie Eureka" prize. The award was presented during the inauguration ceremony of the 20th jubilee Festival of Science, Technology and Arts.
