Lodz University of Technology is proud of the numerous successes of students involved in scientific circles. These activities have also been appreciated by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. As part of the competition "Students' scientific circles create innovations", it awarded almost PLN 0.5 million. Funding for the projects was granted to as many as 8 scientific circles, the highest number among all the universities in Poland.

Miss Poland Karolina Bielawska, a student of management at the Faculty of Organization and Management (OiZ) of Lodz University of Technology, has won the title of Miss World 2021, the most beautiful woman in the world. The 70th Miss World contest, which took place in Puerto Rico on March 16, will go down in our history.
Our Olympian, Kajetan Duszyński, a doctoral student at the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology, turned out to be the best in the 400 m indoor run, thus setting his new personal best record. On Sunday, 6 March, at the Polish Senior Indoor Athletics Championships in Toruń, he clocked 46.71 seconds.
Natalia Jabrzyk, a student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering (BAIŚ) of Lodz University of Technology, won the gold medal in the women's team cross-country skiing at the World Academic Championships in Lake Placid (USA).
By the decision of the President of the Republic of Poland of 16 February, Małgorzata Matusiak of the TUL’s Faculty of Material Technologies and Textile Design was awarded the title of professor of engineering sciences in the discipline of material engineering.
During the Polish Science Day gala (19.02) the laureates of the Minister of Education and Science Awards were announced. Two outstanding scientists from Lodz University of Technology were awarded: Prof. Jan Awrejcewicz for lifetime achievements and Prof. Jacek Banasiak for scientific achievements.
Lodz University of Technology has traditionally played in the Orchestra conducted by Jurek Owsiak. During the 30th finale, Lodz University of Technology WOŚP Staff collected a record amount of PLN 310 thousand. It is PLN 10 thousand more than last year. The youngest volunteer, Wojtuś, registered at the TUL Staff was just a few months old - he was born in July 2021.
The three-day IV Ice Swimming World Championships in Głogów have come to an end, where two bronze medals were won by students of Lodz University of Technology: Aleksandra Bednarek and Tomasz Józefiak, appointed to the national team.
This year's winners of the competition held by the Voivodeship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Łódź are mostly representatives of Lodz University of Technology. In the seventh edition of the competition the committee awarded nine people, including four from the Faculty of Chemistry at TUL and one from the Faculty of Process and Environmental Engineering at TUL.
Physicists from Lodz University of Technology are working on an innovative optical water vapour analyser that will significantly reduce energy consumption and will be much cheaper than similar solutions currently available on the market. Research will be conducted jointly with researchers from Wrocław University of Science and Technology and the Technical University of Berlin. The project will be implemented by companies from Poland and Germany.
Scientists from the Institute Polymer and Dye Technology, TUL, participate in a unique, international project. – For the first time we will combine, in an innovative strategy, three individually important concepts used in preparation of dressing materials, i.e. intelligent polymers reacting to external stimuli, active nanolayers and peptides released from a new composite material, as a last option of anti- infective protection against resistant pathogens- informs Assoc. A team of researchers from Poland and the Czech Republic is going to optimize a new technology to capture carbon dioxide from exhaust gases discharged into the atmosphere. The National Science Centre has allocated over 1.7 million PLN from the OPUS + LAP program for the research.
The National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) has announced a list of 176 winners of the 4th edition of the Bekker internship and research programme. Among the scholarship holders is Dr Eng.
