Scientists from Lodz University of Technology are involved in a project run by FermiLAB, the main particle physics laboratory in the United States, managed by the Department of Energy. The research work conducted is related to neutrinos, which are part of the search for answers to fundamental questions about the origin of the universe.
The project entitled "Sustainable Industrial Design of Textile Structures for Composites", coordinated by Prof. Marcin Barburski, from the Institute of Architecture of Textile at TUL, has been nominated for the title Symbol of the Synergy of Science and Business 2022.
Symbol is a nationwide programme aimed at promoting the best symbolic entities in their industries. More than 500 institutions have won the award over the past 11 years.

The game "Bzzz! - Together in Power" won the Best Gameplay category of the Indie Showcase competition at the international Game Access Conference held at the end of May (May 27-28) in Brno (Czech Republic). Łukasz Adamek, M.Sc., a doctoral student at the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering is taking part in an economic mission to Egypt (May 29-31) attended by the President of Poland. During the Poland-Egypt New Tech Forum in Cairo, Mr Adamek is presenting an innovative solution based on the use of thermal imaging to detect early symptoms of disease in animals.
Treatment of heavily contaminated industrial wastewater is a tremendous challenge facing our economy. Currently, one of the most promising methods of their recycling, with high implementation potential, is ozonation of wastewater in the presence of a catalyst. This topic of research is dealt with Assoc. Prof. Lucyna Bilińska, who works at the Faculty of Process and Environmental Engineering , this year's winner of the Scientist of the Future Award, in the category of Future Research.
The project with the acronym SustDesignTex will be implemented at theFaculty of Materials Technology and Textile Design. For its implementation, 1.5 million euros from European funds were awarded to Lodz University of Technology.

Admissions for studies at TUL in the academic year 2022/23 will begin on June 15. The university has prepared 5390 places for the first and second-cycle studies, and additionally 760 places for foreigners.
In April, Lodz University of Technology will launch a new series of meetings "Zawód Naukowiec" (Scientist as the Profession”) aimed at the local community: young people over 13 years old and adults. It will be a unique opportunity to meet interesting scientists and visit a beautiful green campus of the university.
