Dr Jacek Stańdo, Professor at Lodz University of Technology's Centre for Mathematics and Physics Education, has been awarded the Ambassador of Innovation award by the European Centre for the Development of the Economy. The mathematician was recognised for his outstanding involvement in numerous projects aimed at developing innovation in Poland, as well as forward-thinking, out-of-the-box thinking and new solutions.

Tree Hunter - Robe McBride visited the campus of Lodz University of Technology on February 1, the day of voting in the European Tree of the Year 2023 competition. He came to see our oak. He met with representatives of the authorities of Lodz, Lodz University of Technology, Klub Gaja, numerous media and residents of Lodz to support our efforts to win the title.
Lodz University of Technology and the Medical University of Lodz conduct many collaborative projects and research, which is why the rectors of the two universities resolved last year to formally recognize these shared efforts. They announced a competition for the best publication co-authored by scientists from TUL and UMed. Now scientists have been invited to participate in the second edition of the competition.

On the first day of the calendar spring (21.03), the winners of the European Tree of the Year 2023 contest were announced. The first place went to the oak Fabrykant with 45,718 votes of internet users cast in favour of the tree which grows in Klepacz Park on the campus of Lodz University of Technology.
Wiktoria Gerlicz, a student of biotechnology at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences at Lodz University of Technology, won the Rector's Award of Lodz University of Technology in the first edition of the programme for exceptionally talented students - E2TOP.

Researchers from the Department of Molecular Physics of Lodz University of Technology received over PLN 1.2 million in funding from the National Centre for Research and Development for their project entitled "New methods for structuring printed QD-LEDs for use in light displays". This is another example of joint research between Poland and Berlin/Brandenburg in the field of development and innovation in photonics.
