For nearly 145 000 PLN, Lodz University of Technology will carry out tree maintenance works and new planting in the historic Bishop Michał Klepacz Park.

Lodz University of Technology was ranked very high in the latest Round University Ranking (RUR) by subject in the Natural Sciences classification. In the education category it moved up 95 places.

The presence of representatives of Lodz University of Technology at the first such cross-sector event in the Lodz region is extremely valuable. - It is a great opportunity to present our achievements, as well as to strengthen cooperation with business, which will be the pillar of the new perspective of project financing - says Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, Rector of Lodz University of Technology, who will speak at the opening of the event.

Researchers from the Department of Environmental Biotechnology at TUL, together with the Krajowa Spółka Cukrowa, received 19 million PLN from the National Centre for Research and Development to develop an innovative process for drying pulp using waste heat and obtaining functional feed components, as part of the circular economy of sugar factories.

The Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) has announced the list of winners of this year's START programme - 100 most talented young scientists. Among the best researchers was Paweł Czapski, a doctoral student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Lodz University of Technology.

Over the last two years, Assoc. Prof. Eng. Robert Cichowicz, Professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering at TUL, has been analysing the air quality with the use of a specialised drone in various locations within the Lodz agglomeration, including: the A and B campus of Lodz University of Technology and the areas which may be affected by the Lodz Combined Heat and Power Plants EC-3 and EC-4. He explains the results of his research in an interview and presents them in the prepared video footage.

On Monday (14.06), Rector of Lodz University of Technology Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik was appointed to the Council for the Plan for Work and Development by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Development, Labour and Technology Jarosław Gowin.

Lodz University of Technology celebrated the 76th anniversary of its foundation. The special session (24.05) of TUL Senate took place in the historic Sołtan Auditorium for the last time. There was a limited number of invited guests in the auditorium.

Nuclear power still raises many doubts, which is why the voice of experts is so important. Andrzej Gąsiorowski, M.Sc., a doctoral student at the Faculty of Chemistry, conducts research aimed at increasing safety of work with ionizing radiation. He is a graduate of Chemical Technology at TUL, he participated in NCN and NCBR projects. He is a scholarship holder of the Polish Society for Radiation Research. He took part in a training and internship trip to Spain in the field of nuclear energy, as well as in technical trips to the nuclear sector in France and Germany.

From October, first-year students at TUL will be able to apply for the new programme E²TOP - Excellence in Engineering Talents in Research with Opportunities Programme. Those qualified will receive additional scientific scholarships.

Science, education and social responsibility - sustainability is growing in importance in each of these areas. Today's university must not only respond to its objectives, but also create them. Prof. Paweł Strumiłło, Vice-Rector for Development, talks about the challenges facing TUL.

The Romanian Politehnica University of Timisoara (PUT) awarded (28 May) an honorary doctorate to Professor Jan Awrejcewicz, an outstanding mechanical specialist, head of the Department of Automation, Biomechanics and Mechatronics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Lodz University of Technology. This is the seventh honorary title that the Professor has received in his scientific career.

The results of one of the most prestigious and most important world rankings - Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) have been published. Once again, Lodz University of Technology has been highly ranked in two disciplines - Mechanical Engineering and Biotechnology
