In the 12th edition of the LEADER Programme, the National Centre for Research and Development awarded nearly PLN 3 million in research funding to two young researchers from Lodz University of Technology: Dr Sylwester Pawęta from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Eng. Bartłomiej Cybulski, MSc from the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering.

Prof. Joanna Kałużna-Czaplińska from the Faculty of Chemistry at TUL, was this year's winner of the Prof. Andrzej Waksmundzki Medal, the founder of Polish chromatography. This is the highest distinction awarded by the Committee of Analytical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

We know the winners of the competition organised by the Rector of TUL for the best description of the impact on the functioning of society and economy in criterion III of scientific discipline evaluation. Twenty four applications were submitted. On Thursday, 23 September, the competition was adjudicated.

In September (12-19.09), the Polytechnic of Šibenik hosted a summer school organized within the ATOMIC Erasmus+ project. Students and doctoral students from Poland, Portugal, Estonia and Croatia trained in the area of usability testing of VR/AR applications.

Encouraged by the success of the woonerf project on Stefanowskiego Street in the previous editions of the Participatory Budget, students of the CIRKULA Students' Research Group have submitted another project to this year's Participatory Budget which will beautify the immediate surroundings of Lodz University of Technology. This time, it is Skorupki Street, which houses, among others, the Rector's Office.

The Interdisciplinary Doctoral School (IDS) at Lodz University of Technology has been operating for 2 years, educating students from all over the world in English. The IDS community consists of about 200 young researchers working on their doctoral dissertation theses in the standard, implementation and project formula. Prof. Agnieszka Ruppert talks about the activities of the IDS.
